Invigorated by the enthusiastic response from recent conventions and positive press, creator Gus F. Martin has been gung-ho galactic completing “The Orbital Suite,” the fifth chapter of his photo-graphic novel Crater on the Moon. Gus appreciates all the fans that stopped by to look, share a laugh, purchase product or offer their paranoia-laced theories.
After leading “an entertaining and light-heart discussion” as guest speaker for a Cartoonists Northwest meeting, Gus’s cartoon featuring CNW President Scott Alan, Vice-President Scott Ball, and member Luke Martin as space marines attacked by moon zombies was awarded “Best-of-the-Northwest” for May 2006.
Emerald City Comicon — Crater on the Moon’s debut convention appearance featured Keith Curtis as Commander Jason Crater, sharply outfitted in his space marine uniform. Crater met some new friends like booth neighbors Michel Gagne, Christian Hill, and Devon Devereaux, plus got the chance to catch up with other inspirational artists such as Batton Lash, John Lustig, Paul Guinan and Greg and the folks with Dorothy whom he’d met at last year’s event.
A.P.E. (Alternative Press Expo) --This San Francisco convention welcomed Jason and his photogenic Argonauts with warm recognition. The California fans enjoyed the noir photo-comic and of course, Jason’s striking uniform was the buzz of convention floor.
